Lead-acid battery regeneration is a complex process involving a number of actions and procedures.

The regeneration process starts with a complete battery maintenance procedure, for initial examination of the battery and repairing any possible visible or hidden deffects. This involves mainly the following operations:

  • Check the battery's state of charge. Charge it when needed.
  • Clean the battery, ensure the battery top is dry, free of dirt and grime.
  • Inspect the terminals, screws, clamps and cables for breakage, damage or loose connections.
  • Apply a thin coating of high temperature grease to posts and cable connections for added protection.
  • Inspect the battery case for obvious signs of physical damage or warpage.
  • It is important to check if the battery has sufficient electrolyte covering the battery plates.

Initial capacity test shows the state and health of the battery before regeneration. This report is later compared to the Output Capacity Test and will show us the difference, the capacity gain added by the regeneration.

Regeneration procedure is the core of the battery regeneration process. It usually takes from 20 to 48 hours, depending on the battery status.

The regeneration consists of a several algorythms by which the battery gradually goes through. Each algorithm is different and has its purpose within the entire regeneration process. The goal is a regenerated battery with fully recovered capacity at the end of the entire cycle.

Output capacity test shows the state and health of the battery after the regeneration. It is compared against the Initial Capacity Test to show the difference, the improvements added by our regeneration process.

The output of the entire regeneration process is, besides the regenerated battery, a comprehensive and detailed report, which shows the state and health of the battery before regeneration and after the regeneration. It clearly shows the capacity gain added by the regeneration and is a basis for setting the price for our services and for issuing the invoice.
